Thieves Road 2020
Next year’s Thieves Road Ultra Marathon will take place on Saturday the 15th of August. In addition to the full-on 45 mile ultra, there will also be a marathon distance (ish) race which will take place along the same route as the first half of the ultra.
The Thieves Road races start in the Pentland Hills outside Edinburgh and head south towards Peebles along a historic drove road. The route takes in varied & stunning scenery, with the first half being very runnable and suitable for all. Well, apart from the wee hill at the start obviously. But check those views out!
The trail race finishes at Edderston Farm, while the ultra marathon heads out from here to take in the infamous Dun Rig Horse Shoe, comprising of a number of peaks surrounding Glensax. If you’re looking for a test of your hill-legs, the ultra with 6900 feet of climbing is the race for you.
The ultra marathon will be a UTMB qualifying event.
Entries will open in January 2020 via SiEntries.
